Hi, I've got some problem running Talus Speech System on my own module. (it works nice with sample talus speech setup module)
I've follow instruction like this :
- Create a new module named Talus - Import lds_speech_304b.erf - Put lds_module_load into OnModuleLoad event. - Put lds_module_cli_e into OnClientEnter event - Place WP_APS, WP_JAIL on my zone - Building Module (all check box checked) - Saving Module with name Talus
After that i've launched NWNX 2.6.1. I can see nwnx windows, nwserver window and talus speech listener window.
But when i'm connecting (through GameSpy list of course), i can't see the logging in talus listener window like this "Player 'hacknisty' joined with IP : 192.168.0.250".
I know that's not connection related as it works as expected with talus speech setup module.
NWNX log reports nothing, and i'm really confused now. Am i missing something ?

Sorry for inconvenience. I've found what was the problem. I've not fill module name by language. I'm using a french version of nwn, so i've first only fill french text for my module name (default language). I've tried to fill english language and it works now. Parhaps you should add this to the readme file, because i've not seen anything like this in it. like : You must fill module name english language for Talus Speech System to work. Anyway, thanks a lot for this great work. I'm really enjoyed playing with TSS. PS : Sorry for my poor English.

I have a question.... I have put everything in, it runs great, even seeing all the speech on the listener window but when I go to the log that NWNX puts out, there is nothing but what NWNX is giving me.
I have looked at every log I have on my computer trying to find where it is actually logging the speech in a txt document.
Can you please help me?

Hey there, First off, I love this system It adds som much more to the game and my players love it. I've got everything installed and working it seems, however none of the commands pertaining to finding a player, i.e., <seenchar> is working. It just returns "Player name not found. Check spelling and try again." Or something to that effect. I noticed a custom waypoint with some instructions to select an ascii language, but I'm not sure what to do with or if that might even be a possible solution. I suspect that MySQL just might not be configured properly. Anyway, any suggestions? Thanks, Phunic

<seenchar xxxx> = Player character name (xxxx), must be the full name, proper syntax, and spelled correctly.
<seenplayer xxxx> = Plyer login name (xxxx), must be full name, proper syntax, and spelled correctly.

<seenchar xxxx> = Player character name (xxxx), must be the full name, proper syntax, and spelled correctly. <seenplayer xxxx> = Plyer login name (xxxx), must be full name, proper syntax, and spelled correctly. Yeah, I've doublecheck that and it still doesn't find the player. And any help with the waypoint? What's it used for? Sorry for all the questions, I just want all the functionality of this great system ;D

Also note the exact CASE must be used. So if your player login was "Phunic" you must use the capitial P with those commands.

That keeps track of who joins and should have only one of them placed somewhere in your module in an area that isn't accessible by players. make sure you have one placed and have done the lever to setup the tables. Mek.

Yeah, I have only one IP board placed in the mod, and have the MySQL db set up with all the proper tables....I've got the listener program set up to NOT use the DB, but as far as I can see, it, NWNX2, and nwn_speech.dll are set up and working. Does the DB need to be in use for the player name functions to work?

The trouble here is that the <seenchar ....> <seenplayer ....> commands make use of a table that is part of my web page player list/tracking system. It uses the player_tracking table created by that system. If you want the seenplayer system to work, you can either add in the tracking system, found here, or adapt the SQL query run by the seenxxxxxxx commands in lds_parse_action. -Lanthar

OK, that makes sense. Thanks for the reply, Lanthar. I'd like to check out your tracking system, however your link is dead.
Thanks, Phunic

Does this work with SQLite?

Does this work with SQLite? I am not 100% sure it would, but I think most of the queries that are done are standard SQL so it probably has a good chance. Lanthar would know better, but I think most DB access is just SELECTs and UPDATEs. Mek.
