Okay, that should do it... I finished putting my monstrous thermaltake 480w from my gaming rig into the server for now. All power rails look good now, and I'm fairly sure we can count on this one not to crash. I'll be getting ahold of another power UPS by tomorrow afternoon, and eventually repairing the existing one maybe...
Enjoy, and We are sorry for the inconvenience. -The mgmt

interestingly, the UPS has consistently been drained as of late, and suddenly now that there is a new power supply in the computer connected to it, the battery has reached a full charge again. I must admit I'm starting to wonder if the old power supply had some sort of short that was pulling more power than the UPS could supply, because it hasn't been able to reach full charge in weeks, possibly months, and now suddenly it has... That said, I think our server instability issues may be resolved now that it has a new power supply.

Sigh. Okay, when I get home today, I'll throw the hard drive into my other desktop. At this point it's most likely the motherboard or chip have gone bad. If anyone wants to donate toward a new one so I can keep the server going, you can use the paypal "Make a Donation" button on the web site at www.worldoftalus.comThanks -Lanthar

That could explain the lagging. I would love to make a donation, however, I need to talk to my hubby first.

5 bucks or up to 20? New parts for running the server should run about $100 to $150 for power supply, motherboard, and chip, all combined. Even $5.00 helps. The trick is finding one that does IDE, DDR400mhz ram (3 chips), and has on-board video, or an agp slot, (and onboard network), combined with a reasonably priced but decent CPU. Honestly the server apparently had an athlon xp 3200, so most anything reasonable is probably an upgrade for the chip.

That is good news Lan and thanks to everyone who has helped.
So when do the new parts go into the server and she comes up running??? So far while we appriciate the use of your other game rig for the server, its not home if you get my meaning. Curious minds want to know.

Web Server up. Game Machine Unavailable. (crashed) Think this just happened again, around 1:30pm ET .. does the game server restart itself?

Sometimes it does, but after 40 mins (unless Mekerek or Inviktus can do a remote restart) I'd say we're in the same boat that we have been, which is that we have to wait until Lanthar addresses it physically where the server is at.
