If you have any other issues regarding trade skills, that do not fit into any of the other categories, please use this section to post them. Thanks.

Since this board may be a response to a suggestion of mine I should be one of the first posters so here goes.
Some background (note I am a player and the following is my impresion of things and not gospel. Refer to the GM's for that);
The ATS (Ambrosia Tradeskill system) was originally devised at least in part by "Mojo" who got it to what the thought was a decent beta level at which point he released it as a public beta test. (See the interview on the NW Vault pate). He has since dissapeared. His original plans were for at least 20 trades and for reltativly easy GM expansion. A version of this is what is implemented in Lanthar's Lair. As a beta it is unfinished and buggy. The GM's have fixed some bugs (depending on severity, time, and visability) and added features. The potential for this to be a colossal time sink for them is significant. It seams to me then that one of the best things that those of us who are interested in crafting can do is help each other and make sure any bugs we do find are well documented. Perhaps we can even find work arounds or fixes to minimise the workload on the gm's and make life easier for us all. To help with this we may want to consider lableing threads in a descriptive way. Such as (bug), (possible bug), (feature request), (querry), (formula), etc. If a bug or possible bug is found experimenting to find it's limits is a good idea as long as the experiments don't crash or place an exces load on the sytem. If the GM's feel different hopefully they will correct me on this ASAP.

I didn't find any places to do it. There was a forge and anvil in the mines but they did not appear to be useable.

I think you could probably empty out the old ATS threads and it would be nice to have threads on all the current CNR and bioware crafts.

Thanks for the revision Anj.
Powers that be. The receipe cards are very useful but don't exist for all the CNR crafts yet. It would be nice if they did.

Anyone know how to feed the cows and chickens? The other day my character, Anais, stumbled upon some farmlands and tried to milk some cows for drink. The cows just mooed miserably, and appeared hungry. So, Anais went out and gathered some oat grains and tried to feed them and they completely shunned the grains. Or, so it seemed. Are they just picky cows? Or, was A. doing something wrong? (Actually, she scattered the grains near the cows, and the ground seemed to swallow them up instantly. What happened to the grains?) Needless to say, we were utterly befuddled...

I messed with a LOT of CNR.. I make my own recipes.. and such.. if Talus needs any more.. i'm willing to make some..
The reason the grains appear gone is because the cows eats them.. there is a script tied to the cows which counts how many rations it needs to eat before they give milk

Fascinating. The grains seemed to disappear regardless of the location of the cows. In some cases, the cows were all the way on the other side of the pen, and yet the grains just disappeared - apparently, through some powerful long-range suction on the part of the cows. I wish, that there was some indication that they actually ate the grains. Perhaps they could walk over to where the grain is dropped (or at the very least, show some interest, as they seemed completely apathetic). Or, maybe we could accomplish the feeding through a dialogue box. Something like this, maybe: "The cow appears hungry, do you wish to feed it? Yes or No" ---- Another question: Why is it that I cannot collect sand at the Lomatin Beach?

Last time I tried feeding the chickens they wouldn't eat. Is that working now?
Lomatin definitly needs more CNR receipies. It also needs a bunch fixed. As it is once you get much over 10th level you won't be using man and perhaps any CNR items (Rory is still using a few old ATS ones he saved and I remember Maura being very upset at looseing an ATS helm she had).
I was wondering if we needed a thread specifically for receipe suggestions and or errors or if they should go in the associated craft thread.
Here is a list of errors that I remember finding:
Healing kits +3 and higher: put the ingrediants in and it stays red and won't let you craft them.
Grizzly bear leather armor: You make it and it never appears (you do get the exp).
Several of the low level scrolls you put the ingrediants in and they stay red.
It would be nice to differentiat CNR vs Bioware empty scrolls and holy water. I know the scrolls have different images but no clue to a neo about which is which. I haven't found any CNR holy water yet so it's possible the receipies I tried to use with the holy water I found were broken. When my alchemy gets up a bit more will make some holy water and then be sure.

I think the fishing one would be an execelent idea. Perhaps you could catch certain fish in streams or on the shore but to get the big ones you would have to charter a boat. It could be like the pirate attack but just not getting attacked.

Hi.
I've spent over 18 hours in the last few days just trying to learn all aabout the cnr stuff. So far, I'e accomplished much.
Even with this new found knowledge, (and from one that is completely new here with no knowledge on all the lands), I must say that alchemy is the hardest thing to get going.
I think I've come across many now that don't have a trade for their character and I think I can understand why. It's a long and ardous process with it's end result being trivial to your needs or for selling.
Then again, with limited people to trade with that is another curve ball into your plans.
I have a bit more to research before coming to any conclusions on this opinion of mine, but will share them when I learn some more.
There is a vast shortage of Aloe plants how ever. I've only been able to find three of them and with the aid of asking many seasoned Talus vets in the process.
This plant to my understaning is used in both healing essences and in evocation lesser inks to hurt. Such a muti functional plant could be an entire event right there, "The quest to find the lost vally Aloe" hehe.
Could someone shed some light on teh ATS thingy and this for me? It's all new these trade skills things to me but am learnging. For instance, the fletchers thingy in the woodcrafters shop shays I dont know how to use it. How does one use it? Is that an ATS thing?
Thanks in advance for any future info replies. -Longtide.

ATS is another trade skill system. It was the system used in Talus up until August or September of last year. I agree with you that alchemy seams to be the most complex. On the otherhand I haven't found a source of CNR holy water and I believe you can make it with alchemy. If you want to make many of the more advanced weapons you nead holy water.

You need to "learn" the trade before you can use the various tools in the shop.
