Well I guess since gamespy has shut down it's servers now, nwn has probably come to it's end, sure you can still direct connect and use xfire to find servers, but it's alot harder now. I give it maybe 6 more months until there wont be much left out there in terms of online servers.

Ellis, I agree.. As we have discussed over the years Bioware/Atari had a chance to keep it going with NwN2 etc.. but they missed the ship. I know NwN2 has been made more online server friendly by various means they just didnt bring forward what made NwN the great game it was. Now 10 years later its so long in the tooth that only a handful of servers have any steady user base & the couple of those I have tried just didnt measure up to Talus in its glory days.
I still like to think we can collect here or via emails to chat or arrange getting on to T1 or something but honestly I havent been on T1 in at least a month. RL just doesnt allow for the time to make big changes to T1; changes that would keep the few players we have so its basically sits there "as is" for anyone who wants to play.
Funny thing, back when we had 20+ players on at a time I would usually get into groups of 2-6 for hours at a time each night and never really appreciated just how much having all those players on the server at the same time makes a difference in the feel of the world. Passing other characters sitting at the table (Amy Hinote) or crafting items (a whole slew of those folks) or thinking you were going to have fun clearing the death mines to find another epic person or group already there or coming in shortly after & "bumping into" each other.
Gone are the good ole days and until someone can build another community run online game I just dont see that magic coming back anytime soon.
Anyway I still hit the forums and my email hasnt changed forever so I am reachable.

Hi Amy, its good to see you still visit the old place & people. There are a few still lurking in the forums but in game not so much. The chicken before the egg question. No one wants to sit at their pc for hours or days on end waiting for someone else to show up. I have a friend who is supposed to be installing NwN on his pc to check out Talus but RL seems to have slowed him down to the point I need to check up on his progress. It would be great to have you join the game Amy (when college time allows) but I fear there wont be much RP value since there is not a base of users coming on. Mike Man....and just when I was coming back too. Oh well, I'll be around until it kicks the bucket for good.

Yeah, I logged on last night and the server was(legitly and figuratively) a ghost town. I'll try and log on at a set time most days, if for nothing but the nostalgia haha.

I have not looked at the logs in several months but I cant remember the last time I saw someone online when I checked the server status page. Amy if you decide what standard time frame you think you will be online be kind enough to post it here so others might see it & if they desire, can join you. For me, the weekends are most likely to be when I can get some NwN time. Peace! Mike Yeah, I logged on last night and the server was(legitly and figuratively) a ghost town. Amy, I was just talking to Lanthar this morning and he asked me to ask you if you ever wrote any of the books/stories you were going to. He mentioned you asking for permission to use Talus as the backdrop but then decided you would make your own or use another. He seemed curious where you stood with that.

I saw Chass on the server today. It was the first time I have looked at the server status page and seen a player on in a while. I know Lanthar checks the player logs & sees players almost daily but its been a while since I have caught site of one myself.
Go Chass!
