I have a slight problem with something encountered.
I love the race recognition. It's great. But there is a significant problem with it involving the challenges.
Namely, to make a long story short, I walked two level 2 clerics through the challenges not to long ago with my level 3 drow...
if you know your stuff, you have a good idea where this is about to go...
We get down past all the undead, and ogres, and trolls... to the first level that is all drow. I wasn't exactly thinking, but wouldn't you know it... several drow were spawned, enough to be a moderate challenge for 1 level 3, and 2 level 2 characters...
and that level 3 character? That made that spawn what it was? Being a Drow? Was completely unable to fight those drow do to them immediately being set to allies. For her. Not for the poor human and dwarf clerics she was traveling with.
I cussed a bit, and quickly right clicked a drow, in hopes that I would be able to attack it and bail the two low level spell casters out of a SERIOUS jam.
NOPE. PVP settings are set to none. That includes the Race recognition as well apparently. ;
Seriously. It wouldn't let me attack them. So...
I got to stand there like a d**n idiot and watch them be slaughtered. Then we had to break party, because all I would do for the duo is make the spawns just that much worse.
Another problem might be if I happened through there... with a higher level character... suddenly, I can't clean up my spawns (something that makes me CURSING mad when other people do it)
I was wondering if something could be done about this... I think it is possible to attack some NPCs in no PVP mode, so long as they are neutral rather than an ally. Though I have never attacked some one like that in Peri or Lom. Ever. I killed a few guards once for freaking out over me having a chisle. XD But that is it.
And I don't think allowing PVP in the challenges will fly at all... lord... there would be so much PKing between the newbs it wouldn't even be funny...
but I have very little clue of how game mechanics works, or factions. Perhaps setting them to a faction that won't attack, but you CAN force an attack on (reguardless of PVP) would work...
Another point, shouldn't those particular drow kill any one that goes through there anyway? Same with the gobs, ogres, and trolls. The gobs, Ogres, and trolls are being PAID to stop adventurers reguardless of their race. As part of the challenge. The drow are there for an invasion. Any one that stands against that, drow or not, would be attacked, would they not?
Anyway, just suggestions. If this has been brought up before I appologize.
