what ip are u forwarding to? it has to be the address of the pc running the server.
when you mention firewall is disable, do you mean the soft firewall built into win xp sp2 or as a part of the linksys?
also, in port forwarding make sure you tick which type of packet you want to go to the pc. i believe there are 2 choices. Really its easiest just to check them both.
oh and if your using dhcp in your home network, try to give your pc with the server on it a static address outside of the dhcp scope. Then forward the ports to said ip address..

they said the others outside the LAN needed to use 192.168.22.48 for a IP

talked to linksys last night they said the others outside the LAN needed to use 192.168.22.48 for a IP Anyone connecting from the outside of your LAN from the Internet cannot use that IP address to connect. 192.168.x.x is reserved as a "Private Network" by the IANA (the one's who assign who gets what IP block on the Internet) and will not be routed across the Internet. (Read more about them here, paying special attention to the information in RFC1918) If they are connecting from the Internet, then they must use the 12.149.121.253 address. From the forums link Slider posted, here's a couple of things to make sure of: * Neverwinter Nights uses UDP, not TCP for its connections. * Ports 5120 through 5300* Port 6500 * Port 27900* Port 28900 If this still doesn't work, my best troubleshooting comes from watching the network on both ends to see what ports the client is trying to connect to and what isn't being seen on the server end. For this, I recommend Wireshark (previously Ethereal) One last thing to check is to make sure that the client doesn't have a software firewall enabled. It could be the client firewall blocking outgoing connections to your server. (Not too sure if WinXP's firewall does this, but I know for a cruel fact that Norton's Internet Security will give you problems) Hope this helps.

well it was the ISP, they had a firewall up as well so I paid the $5 to get a static IP
they are local and nice enough to say that if in a month or when ever, I want to switch back they would have no problems with that
