Introducing...
(Updated Oct 14th 2009 with the Final release information)
Features
-13 New, improved and ExPaNDed desert regions spanning the perimeter of Battle Isle.
-4 New areas. (1 remade, 3 new, including 2 massive 20x20 connected dragon lairs for some serious dragon hunting!)
-17 20! Tombs to raid/explore Indiana Jones style!
-16 17 New deadly creatures (3 modified, 1 modified boss, 2 new bosses, 10 11 new monsters!)
-4 5.5 New Quests (1 for the UFTN, 3 open to all and 1 MASSIVE story dialogue that essentially has 1 full quest AND 2 xp rewards burried within it for reading / getting that far!) This last dialogue / quest is what held up the release, originally sent in as a last minute addition but again, with Lilac Soul's Script generator, I was able to do some pretty cool things with it AND sum up story lines while creating new ones! (See below!)
This "special" quest is NOT for parties (no xp awarded to the party) and because it is so special, there are only 2 plot items per reset to find to complete this quest! 1 item is a random drop, the other is a persistant drop and persistant location).
-Can now join with the UFTN automatically! (Must be neutral to good aligned, UFTN key issued upon acceptance)
-Modified Freeblade & UFTN Keep (Keep main gate is now open to all)
-Random chance of finding a True Holy Avenger Longsword!
-Extremely Caster friendly! (Casters should be able to do some SeRioUs damage here!)
-Riches and Treasures abound using the new Talus Treasure system! 5 New Custom magic items / relics to be found!
-To many more changes to mention! Tons and tons of changes!
-For Levels 26+ (The Keep itself is safe for all levels)
Updated Information
Battle isle was first introduced into Talus in June of 2004. Since then it has undergone 3 major remods. Once for when Battle Isle fell to the d**ned forces, a second time for when the keep was retaken by the Freeblades with the help of the UFTN and now, for a third time because the Island is Rising!
Thats correct, Battle Isle is Rising! Over the last 2 years, the island has been steadily rising out of the Oceans off the coast of the Talus mainland. The island has risen to the point that many new and unknown cave entrances have opened up out of the waters to reveal the ancient hidden mysteries within.
Once the homeland of a powerful race of humans known as the Eko-Jins, but now, like the Nevedions before them, lost to the sands of time this deadly island has some [glow=red,2,300]secrets of it's own to be revealed![/glow]
Originally, the deserts surrounding Battle Isle where built as an "add on" to help with my "island" design for the main feature, which was the Front Lines dividing Liveda and the Freeblades. But now, they have been modded so much to the point that I'm officially declaring the desert areas as it's own "region" and will now be known as...
"The Battle Sands."
100% Complete and officially in the hands of Badwater!
Final Note:
Wow! I can't think of anything more to say then WOW! I'm happy with the areas and design, the creatures and the challenge. I'm happy with the new scripted quests and the whole of it all.
But what I'm really, REALLY happy with is both the wrapping up of the long LOoNNg story line of Liveda and of how he came to be here and most of all, the NEW story line of what is to come in approximately 2-3 years of In-Game time!
I believe I have the next 3-5 years (rl) of Talus 1 story line (from both a builder's area introductions and DM Intuition's event story lines) set up for the UFTN!
