Alright, I do believe the uniforms are done. Not the best, but its a good design considering the outdated styles we have. If I might request integration of some new styles for clothing into the next big update? Perhaps an upgrade to the style models. There are models that do armor, helms, shields and cloaks now, all at the same time. I have copies of the uniforms and this weekend I will work on integrating them into Talus and then I'll start placing HC guards.

Wow! What a huge project. It's coming along, and I'm spending 3-6 hours a day to get it going. In some ways, what I'm doing isn't translating into much. I mean, we go to the big cities, get our stuff, and we're out. But there is SO MUCH behind the scenes. Scripts and conversations from years past that have never been deleted. NPCs that were created with nary a thought of hitting a hard resource limit. I'm pretty sure that earlier builders have been overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of backtracking what's been put together already. And in most cases, the path of least resistance was taken, and I can see why. BUT - let's take a moment to thank the builders of the past: Lanthar Longtide Frome Endarn Chass Mekerek Rfreeborn DeltaKnight There have been others. Many have come and gone and even though I have deleted much previous work, there is stuff behind the scenes that still exists. I'm keeping things going and making fresh stuff, but a lot just seems fresh because it's new. I'm big on stealing from previous builders - that way, I can delete only what needs to be deleted. I've modified (and continue to modify) many creatures, conversations, and scripts that these and others created, in order to bring a freshness to Talus. So... The Alvar and Lomatin area layouts are nearly completed. Quests have been moved, or are being moved/modified, and I think that by the end of the weekend we might be seeing all this new content. But what I'm working on implementing so far has more to do with moving the old things around than creating new stuff. What that means is that there are a lot of additions that are yet to be made. The new merchants will need to be added. Quests will get added, based on specifics and not the one-size-fits-all quests of the past. Interiors will get added, and underground areas. In Lomatin, it will initially seem like not much is there. That's because there's not much there. BUT....Lomatin gets hit with a calamity, and you expect things to be some sort of "normal"? I think not. So I will be adding content as time goes by, and there's a kind of rationale going on given the events that have taken place. We're talking days and weeks where things change there. In the end I think it will have a very cool feel to it all. Alvar also will start with a basic city and then flesh out quickly and deeply. I think it's better to have the basics in place and all of you can get a feel for the basics, then I will add and change things. It's all a dynamic. I want a Talus that changes so that what you adventured in 4 months back will not necessarily be what you find today.

Almost makes me want to get into building again. Sounds a lot like what I used to play with in Unlimited Adventures.

Well, I think that my toolset crashing corrupted my working copy of Talus and the backup. That means my work of the past 6 hours is lost. I was hopeful I could have a working update later today. I've had to back up to an earlier version of Talus so it will be a couple of days now. *sigh* I'm going to bed now.

Wow for Alvar, quite the change!
A bit confusing to navigate at first, as the layout isn't very intuitive, but it does seem to keep with the constant of being a coastal city.
It feels a bit empty, but I am sure that will change.
"If you build it, they will come." ;-)
O, and the prison should probably be re-designed, if that's not already on your list. The Lomatin guards are still in it too. lol

I'll make changes in the prison when I've updated the guards to be HC NPCs. I will do that after I flesh out Alvar a bit more, maybe by next week.

I'm plugging away at getting more added to Alvar. I think I'll be at a stopping point by the weekend and I can work more on getting Lomatin taken care of so we can get some of the quests back.

It's quite a bit harder to have modified uniforms on my DM avatar and copy what I see in the toolset rather than have something to import. But (4 hours later) I have them done and at this point I will only import what I need for the HC NPCs, so look for that in the next couple of days. We will start seeing them popping up and supplanting Lomatin and Peridotia militias (pretty much solely for the sake of saving resources).

I'm currently waiting to add any more significant content to Alvar pending a response from the HC about their guard NPCs. I don't want to spend a lot of time adding NPCs just to have to change them. In the meantime, I am updating SE Alvar Coast. I'm not taking out anything that isn't there; rather, I'm changing tilesets to allow rationale for having CNR salt and sand there. I will also have some merchants there to sell sand or salt (at inflated prices, of course) if you don't want to forage it for yourself. On the T2 side, I'm getting some basics ready and testing a couple of things before adding a starting area, starting town, and then modifying the Fadar areas for use on T2.

Sorry about that, its been a busy few weeks with work and family. I thought I had e-mail notification turned on when I got PMs, but I guess not anymore. :-(
PMs have been returned. I guess I was sort of expecting an e-mail when you had further questions. (looks sheepish)

I've done little changes and corrections on T1 as I've been going along, and tonight I'll do a T1 update that will take care of a bunch of little things. I'll see if the change I made in T2 to get the PC Scry and PAW to work will work in T1 as well.

Not much will be going on with updating T2 over the next 10 days. I have to close up shop and get everything moved into storage, sold, or given away.

I think that sometime in the next couple of weeks I will update T1. I will make Lomatin a little less anarchic and perhaps allow for travel again between Lomatin and Peridotia. Pirates will still have control of East Lomatin and it may be perilous out there. I will bring Pirate Attack back in modified form.
