Tonight was a long night. Before changing the bag that the player will get upon login, I wanted to make sure I have whatever is going to be useful installed, running, and in the bag. To this end I've been working with what to be doing about a scry device. I spent way too much time working with the KEMO scry, which ultimately is crap that isn't named properly and won't import properly. After a few hours of deciding it wasn't going to work, I was going to give up and then I ran into a different emote wand download that has a scry, and it will be easy to separate the scry conversation and functions and make it work. So that's what I'm going to work with. In the course of making some preparations with a scry device, I ran into some scripting errors with our horses. I've fixed that and now the horse management tool dismisses horses like it's supposed to. Well, I got that far in so I went all in and now see why we can't mount horses. I'm going to fix and test that tomorrow and get horses to work for everyone. After that I'll get back to this little matter of the scry....

Was beginning to wonder if we would ever get to enjoy those new horses again. Glad to hear you found the scripting errors in the coding.
Hmm Scrying sounds fun...imagine all the mischief....*evil laugh*

Well, I've spent a few hours on the horse issue and haven't gotten it to work, so I'm tabling it for now. The time is time I could be more productively working on T2 so I'm going back to that for now. I'll look at horses again later, maybe next month.

Back to the PC Scry device - that works fantastically. I just need to disable the teleport function of it and I will implement it on T1 and T2.

I've been wanting to do some playing, but T2 will never get up and running if I don't put the time into it. Hammerfall, Crescent City, Valahna, and Northport all have their exteriors completed. (For the most part, although I may do decorating or other things to liven up the areas). I am now working on interiors for these major population centers; that is, where merchants, temples, taverns, and other places of interest will go. I have decided to go with the DOA encumbrance system, and although I have not yet added it to T2, I will. You can check out what this is all about here: nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Scripts.Detail&id=411So what is basically happening is that 500 gold will weigh 5.5 lbs., contained in a gold sack that will pop up in your inventory. This will cause encumbrance issues for large amounts of gold. I am intentionally making gold a hot commodity from the outset in T2. I want to make players struggle to get, and hold on to, gold. In that way it becomes valuable. And even when you have large amounts of gold, it will be an issue to cart it around. All intentional. T1 will always be an easier module. You'll be able to have great stuff and carry 1m gold on your character with nary a care. And I like that T1 offers that and will be a different experience than T2. Hey, some days I just don't care and want to hit things and not have to really think about it. T1 is the place for that. It's never going anywhere and will be the old standby that it always has been. As much as I love a change of pace, I totally understand why Lanthar wants to keep T1. Some things about T1 should not change. I have tried to keep that feel while making changes (ironically) in T1. I'm not sure I'm going to fuss with the banking system in T2. I know of servers that have issued bank notes and the like and while it is convenient for players, the moment you issue bank notes you've rendered the gold encumbrance issue obsolete. I don't want to do that, and I think that I may keep banks as they are. But if Lanthar has an easy idea to skim gold off the top in a deposit, I'm going for it. I'm going to make T2 hard. It may be too hard for the likes of some players, but you know what? T1 will always be there. If you're frustrated with T2 then you can still have fun with an easier T1 module. I have not abandoned T1 completely; I will still make changes - for the moment, however, I'm focused on getting a decent T2 module up and running. I have zero confidence that something new is coming...NWN2 was a complete bust and NWN3 will be also. I firmly believe that NWN has not run its course yet with Talus. When the next great RPG comes along to replace NWN then I'll embrace it with open arms. We're just not there yet. I will continue to send updates in pictures of what I think is interesting. T2 is just around the corner, and although it's not the NWN2 module it was originally envisioned to be, it's going to have some serious challenges and it will be different from T1. I promise that.
