Two General Rules that need to be known about:
Houses: PLEASE only have 1 house, we only have a limited supply of them and so if you own more than one, someone might not get any. PLEASE keep only 1 house. If this gets out of hand, we will have to find a way to enforce this limit automatically, which we would like to not do.
Vendors: PLEASE do not buy a vendor and put items that are less than +3 or so on them. PLEASE do not have duplicates on them of items, if one sells.. then put another on. Do NOT use them to store worthless stuff you just don't feel like selling. Sell your worthless stuff and put the gold into the bank.
These are not hard rules, we try to not have to many of them here, but if they get abused to any extent, we will have to enforce them with scripts automatically. (More work and effort for us Builders)
Thanks.

I've had a vendor for a long time now and these are my guidelines: - Don't get a vendor if you're under level 17-20. The reason is that you're still getting basic equipment for yourself, much less having a decent inventory to sell. Also, being epic and above shows some investment into Talus in terms of time spent here. Aelos started his vendor when he was in the low 20's in terms of his level. Store items in a chest or two until you're ready to set your vendor up. - I do have items under +3 in my vendor for low level characters to purchase. The availability of such for low levels is a topic that has been beat to death, so please don't start hitting the poor horse again (He's dead, Jim!). I only have duplicates in weapons where two might be used for two-weapon fighting (kukris, short swords, rapiers). If I have a duplicate items like that on my vendor and it's not selling I pull it and sell it. - Don't stock gems, and don't sell gems to a vendor. Don't stock items that we're all going to find, or a quest item, like the Challenge 1 gate key or the Datson amulet. Others can do what they want with crafting supplies as long as it doesn't get out of hand, but I have never stocked crafting resource items. - Don't place you vendor next to 4 or 6 or 10 others! Too many cause problems and force us to have to make choices about vendors to kill off. Don't place your vendor near or in places where there are hostiles. That is to say, if the area (NWN area, not general geographic area) that you're intending to place a vendor spawns hostile NPCs, don't put it there. - If it seems like there's vendors everywhere (like it does right now) then please accept the fact that another vendor isn't needed for now. Store stuff and wait for things to change, because they always do. As I've said, I've seen nearly all the player vendors come and go in the time that Aelos has had his vendor.
