I was wondering if there are more subraces than that listed on the website. I've seen quite a few players playing races other than what's listed. I've been told they COULD be experimental. My question is this: Could I try an experimental race if there was one. Is there a list? or do you have to role play the changes. I have seen Lillithid PCs and well as a pure blood dragon. I'd hate to play anything stupidly over powered as it takes the fun away but I'm kinda getting bored with the same ol same ol. If there is something, I'm going to use it as STRICTLY roleplay. I'm not looking to build the greatest PC on Talus EVER!!!!!. ha.
Thanks for your time. ~Beardicus~

If you know the appearance # of body type most DMs will set you to whatever you ask for unless it's undead.
This is just a visual change, no abilities come with the new look. You have to figure out a way to role play this appropriately so that it makes sense to other players.
If you do a bad job or abuse this then DMs just ignore further requests of this type from you.

Yep, like Inviktus said, it's probably a visual appearance change. Heck, I even have a Human Monk made to look like a Badger

Inviktus is totally correct; all your seeing are skin jobs for players to enjoy a little change but no actual adjustment is done. No hidden or testing based subraces going on or a list of said things. On the talus home page under the "DM tools" links is an "appearance" page which lists the diff choices and corresponding value for a DM to use. Of course again as the boss has stated NO undead appearances for characters.

Thank you forthe information. What I basically wanted to do was make a wise old Frost giant named Uncle Ol' Matt King Cole. He's a Bard and the ONLY thing he does is give other players information of random topics of interest. Basically....random lore on random things. ha I could care less as far as stats go as like I stated it's only for Role play. Now I KNOW Frost Giants are more than generally evil and not to throw around examples of a certain GOOD drow(rages on the inside)....but I have role play reasons why he's not an Evil AL. But. Me being me and only knowing how to play the game I have NO technical know how on the skin changes and such so I'll most like need a lil more in depth help on it(it took me 3 hours to get the CEP to work right). lol Thanks all for helping. I'm awaiting to hear what you guys think! ~Beardicus~

Here is a sample of likely appearance numbers you would choose from:
1719 Giant: Frost Warrior A** 1720 Giant: Frost Warrior B** 1721 Giant: Frost Warrior C** 1722 Giant: Frost Warrior A** 1723 Giant: Frost Warrior B** 1724 Giant: Frost Warrior C** 1725 Giant: Frost King A** 1726 Giant: Frost King B** 1727 Giant: Frost King C** 1728 Giant: Frost Cleric A** 1729 Giant: Frost Cleric B** 1730 Giant: Frost Cleric C** 1734 Giant: Frost Sorcerer A** 1735 Giant: Frost Sorcerer B** 1736 Giant: Frost Sorcerer C**
Create the character as either a human or a half orc with the class and feats you want in advance. Then when you see a DM on, ask them if they have time to set the appearance of your soon-to-be-a-giant character.

Like my Yuan-Ti, all that does is change the costumes.
