I have heard from 2 people who play this free online game. pwi.perfectworld.com/its called perfect world. Of course you can pay to get more levels quicker and better items but its free to play. I am told you can advance to lvl 70. crafting is very enjoyable its free anyone got an opinion of it; tried it out? Always on the look out for the next NwN.

Read 7.02. I smell NWN2. Totally.

Ohh shoot. 7.4 mentions the game being focused on single player instead of online. And their excuse is a bit flimsy sounding. Sorta reminds me of Justice Sotomayors excuses for her comments. Guess I wont be holding my breath that it will replace old NwN. Not just yet anyway. Now I can cast an illusion upon myself and say "hey maybe in a major patch they will include online!." I think I am still going to purchase it though.

ok so dragon age is now in pre-order. Its gone gold and from what I read it sounds very baulder gate/ nwn ish... There WILL be a free toolset for custom builders though the purchased game will be stand alone only. I am sensing a possible replacement for the aging nwn series here folks... dragonage.bioware.com/game/faq#7.04

Dragon Age might be a replacement but remember it doesn't have multiplayer ah hah!! it DOES have a user toolset based specifically off of NWN. The stand alone game was designed as just that, a stand alone but they are GIVING you the same tools to host online worlds they did with NwN... So if we host our own worlds how is it any diff than nwn??? I will tell you... It will be 8 yrs newer in graphics and interface my friends.!!!!

Really? Huh, I didn't think that they allowed any online capabilities. You could build modules but not play them with other people you could just release them and have other people play them. meh, I'm probably wrong.

I've actually been following this one for the last month now, even have the character creator dloaded and made a few characters.
It does have some very new and interesting aspects, and I too am looking to see what's happening with the multiplayer mode (if any) here.
I was really excited to here that it was based off the nwn toolset as that does allude to something that can be built and hosted. But Aethil might be right in that "you build, post and others play your mod single player".
But we all know that every big game will be released in stages so the next stage of this game might come with multiplayer options.
I do know that when I get back from my Vancouver trip in the middle of November I will be buying it.
Other then that, I've been enjoying Sacred 2. I don't like all the evil in that game, (I only play Sera's and Temple Guardians) but I do like how you build characters, very very cool.

They left the specifics foggy on the building vs online play. The only 2 things we know (they stated) for certain are these. The toolset is NwN based and free. The original game will INITIALLY be stand alone only. That last part makes me hopeful that as LT said an online component will be either downloadable as an update or an expansion pack. I too am buying the game.

Oh and I was just reading on their page that if you want both the free character and the free dragon armor you have to buy the boxed version and NOT the downloadable electronic version!! So go over to newegg and preorder the box or get it at your local retail outlet.

So I went out, laid down my hard earned cash for Dragon Age...
and NO TOOLSET!!
Seems there was a problem and so it is not included in the package.
Furthermore, the game plays just like NWN2, complete with lip flappers and forced companionship! BUMMER!
No competition for NWN here... and my advice is don't waste your money!
so disappointing...
at your service,
DZ
