New Bard at the Inn tonight... one show only!

No one really takes notice when little Delisha enters the rowdy tavern... Drunken
eyes see only the lyre strung over her slender shoulder…
Just another Bard

Like a kittens shadow, she moves gracefully to the stage… Placing
a small white handkerchief on the floor
A place for tips…

Next Delisha slides the wooden stool to the rear of the stage… sitting
down, the Bard begins to strum…her back against the wall
She wants no surprises…

Then, like a sharp blade, silence sweeps across tavern, her dark harmonics quieting
the crowd … her deep, melancholic voice filling the barroom with
An Elfin Prayer

Lord, tired and travel weary
I'm offering this prayer
Your chosen children suffering, a world filled despair
We welcomed them with open arms
When the strangers first appeared
But their minds are filled with ignorance; their hearts are full of fear

Lord up in the heavens, sitting on your silver throne
Cast your gaze on my poor soul for I am so forlorn
Can’t you see the misery, can't you feel the pain
Lord have mercy on our souls, the strangers name is man

Now these human beings spread everywhere
Like a disease across the land
They’re deadly creeping pestilence,
Lord I can't understand
How to keep our sanity,
While they kill, and rape and burn

Lord up in the heavens, rise off your silver throne
Cast your gaze on my poor soul for I am so forlorn
Can’t you see the misery, can't you feel the pain
Lord, I beg you save our world, from this creature known as man


Somber echoes slowly fade up into the flickering shadows… nimble fingers
now torturing the taunt strung catgut… snarling out a baleful ballad…
The Wizard's Son

I can still remember mother screaming
as the solders arrow took her eye
I hid in silent terror bleeding
and when my father fell I cried
I watched the mighty Wizard die

I remember all his incantations
how he opened wide the gates of hell
to banish forth the evil Sharrozon
that demon feared my fathers spell
would he fear the Wizards son as well

with my own blood I drew the mandula
the fires of hate burned in my heart
I will bring to earth, the hell-spawn demon hordes
and let them take the world apart
I'll let them tear the world apart

I remember all his incantations
I opened wide the gates of hell
I called the legions of the underworld
for they will wreck my vengeance well
the Wizard's son did cast his spell

the sky turned black, the mountains trembled
the age of darkness has begun
the Dark Queen pauses momentarily
for death to kiss the Wizard's son

Now leaping to her feet… attacking the instrument she holds like an
un-faithful lover… Delisha wails out her final ballad…
The Quest

We went down through the evil maze to the very bowels of hell
Down, down… adventuring
We planned our quest so well… we planned our quest so well

Our vicious armored warriors, they’re Human death machines
And the Bishop with her magic spells, her Elfin eyes just gleam
The Hobbit Priest raises up his staff and smiles and evil smile
He beckons, lo, come with us thief; we’ll make it worth your while
And so we journeyed onward to the riches far below
And we leave a trail of blood and death as our adventure grows

We went down through the evil maze to the very bowels of hell
Down, down… adventuring
We planned our quest so well… we planned our quest so well

Through endless twisting corridors Lomiwa lights the way
As the demons of the nightmare world, they fight to make us stay
Be we are mighty warriors invincible it seems
And the minions of the Overlord will never thwart our dreams
And so we journeyed onward to the riches for below
And we leave a trail of blood and death as our adventure grows

We went down through the evil maze to the very bowels of hell
Down, down… adventuring

And now the quest has ended, the final door is kicked aside
And the treasures of a thousand kinds is waiting just inside
But as we stare in wonder poison gases fill the room
And the portcullis behind us closes sealing of our tomb
Aye, we journeyed onward found the riches for below
And payment for this noble quest is our immortal souls

And now Delisha returns to the wooden stool at the rear of the stage…Sitting
down, the Bard begins to strum softly…her back against the wall
She wants no surprises…

[Longtide]

*Stands up to applaud heavily* Bravo! Bravo! *places a large amount of gold on the handkerchief and leaves the room with a sturdy, bolstered gait*

OOC: Wow! I really like the "Wizard's Son"! That's a great one. It reminds of this country song "The devil went down to Gorgia"? (Is that the title? lol been so long), but even though it reminds me of that song, your's is very original.

*Delisha stops playing for a brief moment, nods and flashes a quick smile in acknowledgment of the generous donation… then continues strumming her soft sad melody…

As soon as the man leaves the tavern, however, she moves gracefully to her handkerchief of gold coins, gathers up her profits and quickly slips them into her purse.

Next the young bard moves casually to the exit, so as to not attract any attention and leaves the crowded Inn. Once outside, she slips silently into the shadows, following the man at a safe distance… wondering where he lives… *
