The XP issue means that I have no ETA on getting a sneak peek in T2. While I wait on word from Lanthar, I'm continuing to build on T2.

We're part way there in regards to xp awards on T2.
I have run into a problem where 1) XP awards were too high, 2) When CNR creatures were killed, xp was awarded twice, and 3) No reduction was made if an animal companion or summon was in on the kill.
Lanthar has helped with problems 2 and 3. Xp awards on T2 are still higher than I want and I don't seem to be able to adjust it globally or by PC level at all, and I should. Why changes are not affecting xp awards is all a bit mysterious to me.
Before T2 comes up, I must be able to make xp adjustments. T2 will not awards xp as high as T1. I see no reason why a PC should be epic in a week and that's not going to happen; so while we wait to get the xp issue ironed out I'll be furiously building and testing in the next few days. If the pwfxp problem can be taken care of this week then I don't see anything really holding up being able to have a sneak peek at T2 this weekend. ;D

Big building and testing night...I'll be building for the next 10 hours or so. I have to stay up tonight because I have to be up tomorrow night, so I have to have something to do! Hopefully we can get this xp modification issue resolved soon. There is also the respawning issue, but that's not as critical as xp awards in allowing a sneak preview of T2.

Friday is my lost day...I work all night and then sleep and get up and go right back to work again. Then tonight I have to get to bed at a decent hour because I have a joint lock class at 10.
Later tomorrow I'll start tacking the xp issue again and see if we can get a preview of T2 on Sunday.

Tonight I've been working on scripting, which I hate because I'm bad at it and it takes me awhile to get things going. I do have something in the works that will be nice for low levels. I think I will have a given home city's priest(ess) or cleric provide free healing for the first 3 or 4 levels and then charge a price after that. That will be in addition to being a merchant of healing goods. The gold situation is going to be quite rough for the first few levels so I think that will help out. I'm still working on it, but I have the scripting issues that go along with what I have in mind ironed out and I will be adding the conversations to the churches and temples here in the next couple of hours. Because I don't think anyone really cares one way or the other, I'm just going to go with a standard D&D pantheon. I may mix things up in small ways if it makes sense, but Moradin is going to be the dwarven god, and so on. Eventually I will have some quests that have follower beliefs in mind; something where you can expect certain attitudes or requests because the NPCs of a given deity believe a certain way. Along with that I will add temple merchants tonight. I suppose that's going to comprise my next 4 hours. *edit* It seems that I have misjudged the ability of scripting to waste hours and hours of my time. We'll just have to see.

The Pirate Spit is further along than I remember, so I'm working on including it. I have to flesh a few things out there and it calls for having a means of getting there from Valahna.
Realistically speaking, you can see the Pirate Spit from Valahna. Valahna is at the convergence of the two forks of the Orsha River, and the "pirates" there are merchant marines that control the river and do the ship running for Valahna. I thought about making it just a free boat trip but that made no sense in Valahna, so I've added another mode of transportation - ferries.
Ferries will take you across a given river. The cost will be 5 gold per level. That seemed reasonable to me; a level 30 would pay 150 gold for a ferry. There will be other places on the Orsha and other rivers where you'll have to take a ferry if you want to get across it.
So there you have it. I'm working on the scripting and getting this in tonight.

I'm doing a couple of things tonight - working on some bugbear areas and finishing up cleric/priest scripts that will heal players.
I don't think players will be overly burdened with gold the first bunch of levels, so I'm setting up priests to heal all players at no charge for the first 5 levels. After that, healing will be 125 gold if you're in your home city and 250 gold if you're not.
If we find through playtesting that another system is preferable, then so be it.
I will try to have these additions in later tonight.

Today I'm doing more testing with merchants and conversations and seeing if I can't track down whatever the heck smkaiser ran into.
I'm also testing nerfed spells and making sure dev crit hit is disabled.
I'll be most of the way on Anira Anma'a today. A group of us found that the areas I had from a well-intentioned builder were just not usable. This was going to be an addition to Fandar on T1, then it was going to be Haktha on T2; but while I liked the areas and ideas the building itself was garbage. At this point I don't really see anyone else doing building on Talus because the learning curve is just too steep.
That said, there are aspects of what was built an ideas in it that I did like, so I'm using what I can. Anira Anma'a is the druid grove areas from that building project that I stripped down and have modified for T2 use, but it's not unrecognizable from the original. I liked the feel and the ambiance of the place so it will be Anira now.
There are other areas and quest ideas that will probably pop up in T2 in a different form - I see no reason to trash the whole thing when there are parts I like that I can modify and use.

I will have a better answer tomorrow night when I get off work. I have a major update I'm working on and still need to find time to test, which will probably have to be in the middle of the night tomorrow.

Any chance of us getting online this weekend BW? I'm doubtful T2 will be up today. There's just too much work and testing to be done at the moment. T2 is still in a beta stage and that goes along with the territory. I should be able to make significant progress in the next couple of days.

Hey BW, Any new thoughts on when T2 can be opened back up for players?

Hey BW, Any new thoughts on when T2 can be opened back up for players? I'm being very careful in not opening up T2 to players quite yet. Not everyone can or will know about a potential bug like what seems to be going on with the gold, and having the module strip the character of everything they spent all this time earning could be so deflating that they never come back. I have the next two days off and will be doing lots of building and playing. If I can't find anything more tonight then I might post the present password here on the boards, and any players play at their own risk right now. I won't replace gold or items lost, and that's the risk of playing T2 beta. This way we can run around and check stuff out but the unaware player can't just pop into a beta version of the module and get discouraged that things aren't working or seem unfinished.

Sounds fair. T2 is still in Beta and as such we play at our own risk. I know of 3 other players who seem eager to press their luck.
